Drone91 is the dedicated Drone Unit for Spartanburg County Search and Rescue (SCSAR), specializing in the use of robotics for public safety. Our team of volunteers operates both aerial and aquatic drones, bringing advanced technology to emergency response missions. By leveraging these tools, we enhance the capabilities of search and rescue operations, disaster response, and public safety missions throughout the region.
We are deployed by Spartanburg County Emergency Management, providing support to local agencies across the county and to other jurisdictions throughout the Southeastern United States via mutual aid agreements. This allows us to respond quickly when specialized drone technology is needed, extending our reach far beyond Spartanburg County when natural disasters or emergencies occur.

Overwatch
While our primary mission is Wilderness Search and Rescue, our work extends well beyond the backcountry. Drone91 has supported fire departments during wildfire incidents, hazardous materials incidents, and underwater recovery missions. We have also provided law enforcement agencies with aerial overwatch during search warrants and public events.
In addition, Drone91 plays a key role during severe weather events such as storms, cyclones, and hurricanes, where our drones assist with damage assessments, infrastructure monitoring, and ongoing search and rescue efforts. Whether searching for a missing person, mapping storm damage, or supporting tactical teams, Drone91 is committed to integrating cutting-edge drone technology into public safety operations, ensuring faster, safer, and more effective responses for our community and beyond.
